Home | Explore | Activity | Things to do in St Andrews Coronavirus restrictions

Following the introduction of Scotland’s Covid tier system, we find ourselves placed within the tier 2 category. With restrictions differing from tier to tier, this may leave people wondering what they can and cannot do when they come to stay with us.

Our latest implemented restrictions mean restaurants can now stay open until 8pm and serve alcohol with a meal indoors. For those with outdoor areas, alcohol can be served up until 10:30pm, with or without a meal.

Our local bars and restaurants have done an excellent job in adapting the way in which they operate to accommodate, and remain open, much to our and everyone else’s delight!

Takeaway

Due to the restrictions in opening hours placed upon restaurants, many have started offering takeaway and delivery services so you can enjoy all our local delights from the comfort of your own (holiday) home. Many are now available on Deliveroo and JustEat. We also recommend downloading the EcoEats app – this is unique to St Andrews and has different restaurants to choose from than the other apps. For those who are not on the booking apps but still offer a takeaway service include:

Little Italy

Mitchells Deli

Haar seafood restaurant

What else is open?

Luckily, the vast majority of St Andrews’ and The East Neuk’s attractions are outdoor based, which means you can still meander through Crail’s cobbled streets and explore St Andrews’ historic landmarks. Aside from the typical attractions, other venues that remain open are:

St Andrews aquarium

St Andrews Museum

The Secret Bunker

Bowbridge Alpacas

Blown Away – West Sands

St Andrews botanic gardens

Fife Zoo

Craigtoun Country Park
