Christmas and Hogmanay in St Andrews and The East Neuk

It’s (almost) the most wonderful time of the year, and why not come and spend it in one of the most beautiful corners of Scotland. Whilst we cannot guarantee snow, the sea foam on the beach counts as a white Christmas, right?

Whether you wish to make it a family affair, or a relaxing retreat for yourselves, it will certainly be a Christmas you won’t forget.

St Andrews offers a crisp, wintery experience where you can feel the festive spirit, there are always plenty of festive goings-on to keep you occupied. Hopefully these few pointers will provide you with some inspiration.

Festive menus and event nights

Although you will have your own kitchen in your self-catered accommodation, to save arguments as to who is doing the dishes, which is never an enjoyable task after a Christmas dinner, visit one of our local restaurants for an event night or simply enjoy their carefully curated Christmas menu options. Remember to visit our exclusive guest discounts page, as you will receive some great discounts at some of St Andrews most popular restaurants.

Many restaurants also run meet and greet with Santa breakfasts and lunches. Check our Forgans or The Saint for this year’s events!

Bowhouse Christmas Market

For those visiting just before Christmas, you’ll be here just in time for the Bowhouse Christmas Market.

Famous for championing all the best local producers and with every type of stall you could imagine, you’ll get everyone on your Christmas gifting list ticked off in one trip.

St Andrews Loony Dook

This one isn’t for the faint hearted. It’s a cold and wet New Year’s Day, so what do we do? Head to West Sands beach, strip off and get in the sea – It’s a different start to the New Year, that’s for sure!

With such a wide variety of homes, accommodating anywhere between 2 and 14 guests, we will be able to provide you with your cosy home-from-home over this special time of year. You needn’t feel guilty for leaving the dog behind either, as they are welcome in many of our properties.
