Winter staycations in St Andrews and the East Neuk of Fife

Crackling fires, cosy coastal cottages and frosty forest walks, what’s not to love about a winter staycation?

As Fife is one of the driest counties in the UK, it means we get to enjoy more of the great outdoors we are blessed with on our doorstep, even over the winter months. The beaches become a little quieter, meaning more of it for you to enjoy, and many golf courses close, allowing you to meander through the fairways.

More importantly, it’s essential you have a cosy retreat following a day in the bitter coastal wind, and we can provide you with exactly that. Arrive back to your home from home, kick off your dirty boots and enjoy the underfloor heating and open fires many of our properties benefit from.

Here are a few of our ‘Winter warmers’.

Kinness Cottage

A stunningly decorated home throughout, Kinness Cottage is perfectly situated for easy access right in to town and ideal for larger groups of up to 8. It’s open plan living, kitchen and dining area with bi-folding patio doors allows natural light to flood the room. There is underfloor heating throughout the living space and the star of the show is its log burner, nestled in the corner.

You can still enjoy its private front garden on chilly winter evenings, with a fire pit and comfy outdoor seating.

Meggie Allans

For those seeking solidarity (with pets in tow, if you wish), Meggie Allans is idyllically located just a short walk to the centre of Crail, boasting picturesque views of the Firth of Forth out towards the Isle of May.

Sleeping up to 4 guests, this cosy cottage has a traditional open fire in the living room for cosying up beside.

The parking is located right outside the front door, so if you are unlucky to visit on a dreich day, it’s an easy dash in to the front door!

Wayfarer’s House

Nestled right beside East Sands beach, you can enjoy the coastal route in to town, and pick up a famous Cheesy Toast Shack toastie on your way back.

Another property benefitting from a log burner in the living room, you can guarantee a cosy evening. Pets are also welcome here, and particularly enjoy curling up beside the fire after a busy day.

With a variety of cottages and homes across St Andrews and the East Neuk perfectly equipped for a winter staycation, with or without pets, we have something to suit no matter the party size or requirements. If we can be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to give us a call on 01334 472011 or email info@propertystandrews.co.uk.
