Short Term Lets Licensing Fife Council
All properties operating as holiday lets must now have a Short Term Lets License issued by Fife Council before going to market. Don’t worry this is a relatively straight forward process and we, at Kingask, can take all pain points away by directing you through this or indeed we can apply on your behalf.
The main legislative requirements for holiday rentals are as follows:
- Fire Safety (Fire Risk Assessments, presence of extinguishers, fire blanket etc)
- Gas Safety (annual Gas Safety Certification required)
- Electrical Safety (EICR, PAT tests)
- Water Safety (Legionella Risk Assessment)
- Safety and Repairing Standards
- Maximum occupancy
- Insurance
We work closely with our preferred, local tradesmen who conduct the above. We arrange safety certifications on behalf of our property owners, to ensure properties are, and remain, compliant. All of our properties are fully compliant as per STL requirements and we are attune to everything needed and can advise you / organise anything you require.
STL Fees
A STL license comes with a fee. Please refer to this link for up to date costs https://www.fife.gov.uk/kb/docs/articles/housing/private-rented-sector/short-term-lets/cost
