3 Castle Terrace

Situated just a hundred meters from the most photographed harbour in the UK, 3 Castle Terrace is perfectly positioned for direct access to Crail high-street, award-winning beaches, and the Fife Coastal Path.

Adjoining Crail Castle’s wall at the rear, this home itself is architecturally admirable, resembling a ‘mini castle’.

There are two bedrooms on the ground floor; one king sized and the master a super king or twin. The master bedroom further benefits from an en-suite W.C.

To the rear of the property, the dining area with seating for up to 6 guests leads you up a small set of stairs to the kitchen. The back door in the kitchen opens up into the private patio, perfect for a spot of Al Fresco dining.

The first floor consists of another bedroom, equipped with bunk beds. The master bathroom benefits from a stand-alone bath and shower. To the front of the home is the living room, where you can enjoy cosy evenings beside its log burning stove, boasting sea views over Crail’s cobbled wynd tumbling down to its picturesque harbour.

Groups with dogs are most welcome, and can make the most of the most amazing walks with your four-legged best friend, right on your doorstep.

The property briefly consists of:
  • 1 super king or twin bedroom
  • 1 double bedroom
  • 1 twin bedroom with bunk beds

The house sleeps up to 6 people and is pet friendly. The master bedroom has a king bed, while the second bedroom has twin beds that can convert to a super-king bed on request, with an ensuite wc, the third bedroom has bunk beds.  A dining room and fully equipped kitchen provide access to a small courtyard garden adjoining the castle wall. 

Upstairs there is large comfortable living room with stunning views across the Crail bay / Firth of Forth which includes a stunning feature fireplace with Clearview wood burning stove. A luxurious family bathroom with freestanding bath and shower.

All keys are to be collected from our office.

The keys will be ready for collection at 4PM. Check out is 10AM, and keys are to be returned to our office.

Directions to Kingask office:

Leave St. Andrews on the A917, keeping left to the Crail Coast Rd.
Approximately 2 miles from St. Andrews on the left hand side, directly opposite Spinkstown Farmhouse B&B, is the entrance for Kingask House (there is a sign saying 'Kingask, St Andrews).

Once you enter the drive, please follow signs for the office/reception, this is the left hand fork in the road. The ‘reception’ signs shall guide you to our office. We often have deer and pheasants in the garden, keep your eyes peeled.

If you are a regular guest to Kingask, you will note this is a different route to the Office on our new road, you no longer go past the white house!

If you have Google Maps, enter ‘Kingask Properties’ and this will lead you straight to us, you will see the pin in the map for Kingask, St Andrews. The postcode is KY16 8PN if you wish to use a route planner. We are the first left before The Fairmont Hotel. If you reach the “Fairmont Golf Hotel” then you have gone too far.

If there is nobody at the office when you arrive the keys will be in an envelope in the safety box outside with your name and property booked printed on it. This will also include detailed directions on how to get to the house. We shall send you the code to the safe before you arrive.

Alongside the amenities specific to this home included under the ‘facilities’ tab, the following will also be provided for your stay:
  • High quality 300 thread count Egypian Cotton bed linen
  • A fluffy white hand towel and bath towel per person, including a hand towel and bathmat for each bedroom
  • Bar of soap in each bathroom
  • Mini shower gel per person
  • One toilet roll per bathroom
  • A starter pack of kitchen essentials, including dishwashing soap, a few dishwasher tablets, dishcloth, tea towel, washing up sponge and a spare bin bag.
  • An iron and ironing board
  • Hairdryer
In addition, extras are available to add at the time of booking. These can be added up to a week prior to your arrival. These include:
  • Travel cot (linen not provided) £20.00
  • Highchair £20.00
  • Pet fee £25.00 per dog (applicable to dog friendly homes only)
  • Meet at the property service (available only within office hours) £25.00
Please do note, linen is not provided with the travel cots for safety reasons. If you pre-order these we will ensure they are set up in your house ready for your arrival. All items are hired at guest’s own risk

Bed configurations
Please let us know your preferred bed configurations (e.g. twin or Superking) no later than a week prior to your arrival date, if we do not receive this information by this date we shall set beds up as twins as standard. The configurations available for your home are outlined under the facilities and description tabs.

Check in/ check out
Check in on the day of arrival is 4pm and check out is 10am.

Should you require a later check out or early check in, this will be entirely dependent on when previous guests depart, or the next guests arrive.
Please call us a day or so prior to arrival should you wish to check in early. Should a later check out be required and we are able accommodate this, a charge of £40.00 will apply up to 12pm. If you would like to check out later than 12pm, an extra night will be charged.

Lovely house in a fantastic location, just a stone’s throw from the harbour and beach. Well equiped, good wifi and a charming, homely feel. Great service and communication too. Would love to stay here again!

delightful historic townhome updated with all modern conveniences and nestled at the edge of the old castle and just steps to the harbour where you can buy fresh lobster for dinner. Gorgeous seaside walking path and a quaint cafe steps from the door of the house. We would love to stay here again.
