Just a hop, skip and a jump to East Sands beach, The Wayfarer’s House is an idyllic St Andrews retreat.

This perfectly cosy home welcomes you in to the lounge and dining area, which provides access to the kitchen area to the rear. The spacious living area is flooded with natural light, with French doors opening up in to its private back garden. No winter day is complete without a log-burning stove – return home from a long (and possibly wet!) day out, to warm up beside the fire with a hot chocolate in hand.

The kitchen, which retains its original stone wall, comes equipped with all you could require for your self-catered stay.

The first floor encompasses a twin or super king bedroom, a double bedroom and the master bathroom with a shower over the bath. Up another set of stairs, the second floor houses the largest double bedroom and another bathroom equipped with a shower cubicle, and sea views!
To the rear of the property off the kitchen and living room, is a private and completely enclosed garden. Just around the corner from The Wayfarer’s House, you have access to East Sands beach and the famous Cheesy Toast Shack, as well as a wonderful off-road walk down to the Cathedral ruins and straight in to town.


The Wayfarer's is set over three floors and briefly compromises of:

This property benefits from a private garden and free on street parking. The beach and all the town's amenities are only a short walk away.
 
PETS WELCOME
The keys can be collected from the property itself, as there is is a lockbox where the keys are stored.

We will be in touch a week or so prior to your arrival with directions to the property and a code to gain access to the lockbox. Check in is at 4PM and check out is at 10AM.
Alongside the amenities specific to this home included under the ‘facilities’ tab, the following will also be provided for your stay:
  • High quality 300 thread count Egypian Cotton bed linen
  • A fluffy white hand towel and bath towel per person, including a hand towel and bathmat for each bathroom
  • Bar of soap in each bathroom
  • Mini shower gel per person
  • One toilet roll per bathroom
  • A starter pack of kitchen essentials, including dishwashing soap, a few dishwasher tablets, dishcloth, tea towel, washing up sponge and a spare bin bag.
  • An iron and ironing board
  • Hairdryer
In addition, extras are available to add at the time of booking. These can be added up to a week prior to your arrival. These include:
  • Travel cot (linen not provided) £20.00
  • Highchair £20.00
  • Pet fee £30.00 per dog (applicable to dog friendly homes only)
  • Meet at the property service (available only within office hours) £25.00
Please do note, linen is not provided with the travel cots for safety reasons. If you pre-order these we will ensure they are set up in your house ready for your arrival. All items are hired at guest’s own risk

Bed configurations
Please let us know your preferred bed configurations (e.g. twin or Superking) no later than a week prior to your arrival date, if we do not receive this information by this date we shall set beds up as twins as standard. The configurations available for your home are outlined under the facilities and description tabs.

Check in/ check out
Check in on the day of arrival is 4pm and check out is 10am.

Should you require a later check out or early check in, this will be entirely dependent on when previous guests depart, or the next guests arrive.
Please call us a day or so prior to arrival should you wish to check in early. Should a later check out be required and we are able accommodate this, a charge of £40.00 will apply up to 12pm. If you would like to check out later than 12pm, an extra night will be charged.

Family friendly cottage close to beach

Great 3 bedroom cottage only 2 mins walk to East Sands beach. We stayed as a family of 5 and it was perfect for us, the rooms were spotlessly clean and it had all the facilities we needed for a long weekend stay.

Absolutely brilliant location, can only be a minutes walk to the East Sands beach and about 15 mins to town centre. As always had a great stay as with all Kingask properties we’ve stayed in before hence why we always return. Very well presented, clean and with all the required amenities. Would definitely stay here again. Had such a lovely time. An added bonus was being a stones throw away from the Toastie Shack on the beach and a few doors down from the New Inn. Thoroughly recommend.

Wayfarers ,again well equipped and the advantage of being so close to east sands for the children. We were able to leave the kyacks blown up in the back garden

We’ve had the real pleasure of staying here both pre and post the renovations. We loved it before, but it really is fantastic now. The living space downstairs is a really good size, and the extra bedroom at the back is lovely. The house is clearly very well looked after, and the garden is a little sun trap – it might be 14oC at the beach, but it feels like 20oC in the garden! It’s proximity to the beach is excellent. All up, we loved our stay and look forward to our next St. Andrews visit.

Excellent accomodation. I know St Andrews well and this was by far the best accomodation I have stayed in. Great location, next to the beach, very clean, comfortable house with lovely garden. Highly recommended.
