A tastefully decorated, hidden gem perched along Gillespie Wynd, Steprock Cottage could not be more perfectly positioned. Nestled on the pedestrian path connecting The Scores and North Street, Steprock is peacefully set back from the throughfare, amongst its walled boundaries. The Old Course is just a short 2 minute walk away, with all of St Andrews’ popular restaurants, cafés and shops just 200m away.

The front, paved garden is equipped with a table and chairs to allow guests to make the most of the St Andrews summer sun.

Entering through the vestibule, the ground floor consists of a super king or twin bedroom, as well as the master bathroom, equipped with a shower cubicle and separate bath tub. Just along the hall, the property opens in to a bright, open plan living room, kitchen, and diner. The cosy living area boasts patio doors leading to the front garden; a gas fire for chilly winter evening; and a piano, because why not?! The modern yet country-home style kitchen is spacious and bright, with an built in, bench style dining table nestled in the corner.

The first floor encompasses a master king bedroom with an en-suite shower room, as well as the third, twin bedroom.

Completely renovated and recently refurbished with quality furnishings throughout, Steprock Cottage is a truly wonderful base for your visit to St Andrews. Situated on Gillespie Wynd, the pedestrian lane which connects the seafront Scores with North Street, means no direct access for cars however offers almost no noise and an unbeatable location. 

Wandering down the pedestrian Wynd, you come across the named Steprock Cottage is clearly indicated by a jade green gate with Open the gate and you walk into an immaculate patio with steps down to the cottage front door. 

Open plan living room leading to a beautifully fitted kitchen, the space has been used exceptionally well to give off a homely yet spacious feel.

Steprock Cottage would be a very special home from home while staying in St Andrews, ultimately providing comfortable luxury for any guest. 
The keys can be collected from the property itself, as there is is a lockbox where the keys are stored.

We will be in touch a week or so prior to your arrival with directions to the property and a code to gain access to the lockbox. Check in is at 4PM and check out is at 10AM.
Alongside the amenities specific to this home included under the ‘facilities’ tab, the following will also be provided for your stay:
  • High quality 300 thread count Egyptian Cotton bed linen
  • A fluffy white hand towel and bath towel per person, including a hand towel and bathmat for each bathroom
  • Bar of soap in each bathroom
  • Mini shower gel per person
  • One toilet roll per bathroom
  • A starter pack of kitchen essentials, including dishwashing soap, a few dishwasher tablets, dishcloth, tea towel, washing up sponge and a spare bin bag.
  • An iron and ironing board
  • Hairdryer
In addition, extras are available to add at the time of booking. These can be added up to a week prior to your arrival. These include:
  • Travel cot (linen not provided) £20.00
  • Highchair £20.00
  • Pet fee £30.00 per dog (applicable to dog friendly homes only)
  • Meet at the property service (available only within office hours) £25.00
Please do note, linen is not provided with the travel cots for safety reasons. If you pre-order these we will ensure they are set up in your house ready for your arrival. All items are hired at guest’s own risk

Bed configurations
Please let us know your preferred bed configurations (e.g. twin or Superking) no later than a week prior to your arrival date, if we do not receive this information by this date we shall set beds up as twins as standard. The configurations available for your home are outlined under the facilities and description tabs.

Check in/ check out
Check in on the day of arrival is 4pm and check out is 10am.

Should you require a later check out or early check in, this will be entirely dependent on when previous guests depart, or the next guests arrive.
Please call us a day or so prior to arrival should you wish to check in early. Should a later check out be required and we are able accommodate this, a charge of £40.00 will apply up to 12pm. If you would like to check out later than 12pm, an extra night will be charged.

Very comfortable house in a perfect spot in St Andrews. Close to all the attractions of the town but has a lovely, peaceful and relaxed atmosphere. Felt like quite a luxurious stay!

Steprock Cottage is in such a fabulous location and so charming inside and outside. Loved the decor and all the modern amenities, especially the fireplace as it was a chilly week in St Andrews. Our communication and directions were clear and all went smoothly. It was lovely having the outdoor space and it couldn’t be closer to all of the activity of St Andrews while also being quiet and just a block away from the Old Course and the water. Our family of four (4 adults) were able to spread out comfortably-loved this rental.

Fantastic stay at Steprock Cottage, accommodations were perfect for our family, the place was very clean, comfortable a true home away from home. The location was ideal, centrally located but on a quiet alley. We loved it and will definitely be returning! Thank you!!!

We loved our stay. The cottage is in immaculate condition and there was plenty of space for the 4 adults and 2 children staying. The bedrooms are a good size and the bathrooms are modern with excellent shower facilities. The living area and kitchen help to give it a real family feel as people are preparing food or tidying up from meals. The location itself is incredible. The views from The Scores and proximity to The Old Course and the West sands was a massive factor in our enjoyment. I can also thoroughly recommend the options for eating out around the old town. There are numerous restaurants to suit all preferences and we were delighted with every meal we had. Forgan’s was probably the best meal that we had and is worth booking. Little Italy was also well worth a visit. We wouldn’t hesitate to come back in the future!

Gorgeous flat with cool garden on a charming wynde close to everything. We loved it and spent 1/2 our time fantasizing about moving there! Short walk to all St. Andrews has to offer, and the flat itself has great light, a fantastic kitchen, chic furnishings, wonderful bedding and towels, fantastic showers…I would highly recommend!
