Peacefully positioned with beautiful rural surroundings and sea views, Sypsies Cottage enjoys a lovely setting on the edge of Crail. Just a five minute walk from the picturesque fishing village — with its sandy beaches, historic harbour and renowned pottery — the cottage provides an excellent base for exploring the East Neuk of Fife. The Cow Shed Crail wedding venue is only a short stroll away, making it an ideal choice for families, couples, wedding guests and those travelling with pets.

Forming part of a terrace of three cottages, alongside Cradle Cottage and Mick’s Cottage, with Meggie Allan’s just a stone’s throw away, Sypsies Cottage is perfectly suited to larger groups wishing to book neighbouring properties while maintaining their own private space.

Set across one level, the heart of the home is the open plan kitchen, living and dining area, complete with a traditional open fire — a welcoming space to gather and unwind. The master double bedroom benefits from an en-suite shower room with WC, while a twin bedroom is served by a family bathroom featuring a shower over bath and WC.

Outside, the private fully enclosed garden enjoys sea views and provides a safe and peaceful space for pets and small children. Private parking adds further convenience.

Please note, due to the rural location of the cottage, water pressure can fluctuate. The wifi also works off a 3G dongle and therefore signal can often fluctate.

Sypsies Cottage is tastefully decorated with comfort in mind. The property is on one level with a traditional open fire in the living room. There is a fully enclosed garden with sea views and access to a children's play area. This property is ideal for families and pet owners alike.

Private secured garden with swing seat ideal for pets or small children with access to a children’s play park. There is ample parking available for the cottages.

This property has a keycode to access, so there is no need to come to our office to collect keys.

We will be in touch a week or so prior to your arrival with directions to the property and to provide you with the access code. Check in is 4PM and check out is 10AM?.

Alongside the amenities specific to this home included under the ‘facilities’ tab, the following will also be provided for your stay:

High quality 300 thread count Egyptian Cotton bed linen
A fluffy white hand towel and bath towel per person, including a hand towel and bathmat for each bathroom
Bar of soap in each bathroom
Mini shower gel per person
Two toilet rolls per bathroom
A starter pack of kitchen essentials, including dishwashing soap, a few dishwasher tablets, dishcloth, tea towel, washing up sponge and a spare bin bag.

In addition, extras are available to add at the time of booking. These can be added up to a week prior to your arrival. These include:

Travel cot (linen not provided) £20.00

Pet fee £30.00 per dog (applicable to dog friendly homes only)
Meet at the property service (available only within office hours) £25.00

Please do note, linen is not provided with the travel cots for safety reasons. If you pre-order these we will ensure they are set up in your house ready for your arrival. All items are hired at guest’s own risk

Bed configurations
Please let us know your preferred bed configurations (e.g. twin or Superking) no later than a week prior to your arrival date, if we do not receive this information by this date we shall set beds up as twins as standard. The configurations available for your home are outlined under the facilities and description tabs.

Check in/ check out
Check in on the day of arrival is 4pm and check out is 10am.

Should you require a later check out or early check in, this will be entirely dependent on when previous guests depart, or the next guests arrive.
Please call us a day or so prior to arrival should you wish to check in early. Should a later check out be required and we are able accommodate this, a charge of £40.00 will apply up to 12pm. If you would like to check out later than 12pm, an extra night will be charged.

My two friends and I had the most incredible weekend stay at Sypsies Cottage, hosted by Kingask St. Andrews. The cottage was gorgeous, clean and idyllic. It has room for a larger crew than mine. We were in Crail for a wedding, and I sincerely could not have asked for better, more around-the-clock service from Jordyn and Greg of Kingask. Jordyn, specifically, was the most gracious host I could possibly imagine, and she accommodated each of our requests with rapid responses. I will be returning to Scotland with my family next year, and I will insist to them that we visit Crail and that we stay at Sypsies Cottage again. I wish I could give Kingask 10 stars… seriously, their hospitality service is unfathomably good. Thank you Jordyn and thank you Kingask St. Andrews 🙂
