Dunhill Golf St Andrews

Every year in late September/early October, St Andrews comes alive with one of the most anticipated golf calendar events in the year, The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, or just ‘The Dunhill’ for short. It’s the perfect holiday for all golf enthusiasts.

A pro-am tournament that matches the best pro golfers in the world with amateurs, many of the amateurs are well known personalities from the worlds of sport and entertainment. These have included Chris Evans, Justin Timberlake, Samuel L Jackson, Michael Douglas, Hugh Grant, Andy Garcia, Michael Jordan, Michael Phelps and Boris Becker to name but a few. Guests come from far and wide (and very close by!) to catch sight of their favourite golfers and celebrities in action.

Part of the fun also spills off the golf course and in to the town, when the competitors mingle in local eateries and bars of St Andrews during the day and evening. It’s not unknown to enjoy a drink at The Vic with one of the amateur golf celebrities.

It is played on rotation on 3 different links courses – The Old Course, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns Golf Links

A few facts from these 3 world class courses:
