Pet friendly staycations in St Andrews and the East Neuk of Fife

Say goodbye to asking friends or family to take the dog whilst you are away, or the added cost of booking them in to kennels and feeling guilty for leaving them behind. Pack the bowls, bed and lead, because you’re off on a pet friendly staycation!

With so many dog friendly bars, restaurants and cafes around, and the most picturesque local dog walks, there’s no doubt that St Andrews and the East Neuk is THE place to go for your four-legged friends, where they can run on the beach and play in the sea until their heart is content. You’ll have a pretty good time too…

For some dog walk inspiration, whether you fancy a beach day or perhaps a hill walk for those with a bit more energy to burn, have a read of our ‘Best dog walks in St Andrews and the East Neuk of Fife’ blog.

Good walks and plenty to do is of great importance, but it is essential your holiday home is pawfectly suited to accommodate your pet, as well as everything else required for your self-catered stay. Here are some of our pet friendly properties, with everything you could need:

Kittocks Cottages

Situated just a 5 minute drive from the centre of St Andrews, our row of Kittocks Cottages (Cottage, Den, Muir and Corner) is perfectly equipped for a family or group of friends with pets.

The fully enclosed gardens means your dog can enjoy the outdoors without the concern of them escaping, especially during the dark, evening toilet breaks before bed! In addition to the enclosed gardens, there is a shared paddock area to the rear, which again is fully enclosed, providing an even larger space for your dog to play.

The parking area is located just beside the cottages, saving finding parking elsewhere, which is common for the more centrally located properties, and walking to your home with luggage and dog in tow.

Meggie Allans

An idyllically situated cottage with sea views, Meggie Allans is a detached home and is great for all dogs, but perhaps even more suited to those who benefit from quieter surroundings.

There is a fully enclosed garden and private parking right outside the door. You can jump on the Fife Coastal Path from Crail Harbour, just a 5 minute walk away, which is certainly a walk not to be missed.

6 Howard Place

One for the larger groups, 6 Howard Place accommodates up to 14 people, and boasts a private, walled garden to the rear. Just a two minute walk away is West Sands beach, so there’s no need to dirty the car with a sandy dog.

The centre of town is practically on your doorstep, where you’ll find an array of pet friendly bars, cafes and restaurants. For more information on where to go with your pet in town, have a read of our blog.

Kilrymont View

After a day full of endless walkies, your dog can curl up in front of the log burner and dream of chasing rabbits at East Sands beach.

This beautifully decorated bungalow boasts a private, fully enclosed garden. At the bottom of the garden is a gate, leading to Ladebraes walk, a picturesque footpath along the river which takes you straight in to town. In addition, East Sands beach is just a ten minute walk away.

There is private parking for up to two cars right outside the front door. There is also a second ‘front’ door, with access straight in to the utility room. So, if you are returning with a wet, sandy dog, there’s enclosed space to wipe them down.

Alongside those mentioned, we have plenty more properties where your beloved four-legged family members are more than welcome.
